We had some great times and collected some great memories. I remember our holidays especially in Florence, Nice and Bruges. We went to do the culture bit in Florence, but the Sicilian Mafia had blown up the Uffizi Gallery, so it was a longer than usual wait to get in, but still worth it. You and I also struggled to the top of the Cathedral, whilst Gill stayed on the ground. Good views. We went to Nice and it was so cold, wet and windy we had to buy sweaters and an umbrella. It was a red umbrella because the dye came out!! We walked from Menton to Monte Carlo and then sat dripping in a cafe. Cafe owner not impressed! I also remember a ferry ride on our Bruges trip and again it was freezing cold and wet. However, the best one was in Canada. Keith - your reversing didn't improve as the holiday went on. We backed into a huge rock. "What rock?" you said "Who put that there?" and then knocked down a lamppost (albeit plastic) and they tried to make us pay for it!! When we returned to the airport John and I stood where the scratches were whilst you charmed the hire car man and then we all fled. We did laugh. But us 4 were always walking and not least on our annual 20 plus miles walk round Brentwood every August Bank Holiday Sunday. We all had sore feet and blisters but you were as fresh as a daisy! They were such good times. You are and will be very much missed. Rest in peace. love Di and John xx
